Treating pain with Cold Laser Therapy

Here at our clinic in Dallas, TX, we recently started treating our patients with cold laser therapy. It is one of the newest technologies proven to help treat pain and help people get better and improve their quality of life. Check out the details about the treatment below to find out if it's a good fit for you.

What is cold laser therapy?
Cold laser therapy is a type of laser that is used to help with the healing process. It does this by using wavelengths that interact with your tissue. These lasers are generally similar in size to that of a flashlight, which makes it easy for technicians to use and place on your skin.

How does cold laser therapy work?
The wavelengths emitted by cold laser therapy devices pass through the various layers of your skin, including the dermis, epidermis and tissue fat. Once it gets through these layers, it finally reaches the tissue.

Here, the cell absorbs the energy from the wavelengths, which it uses to normalize the damage that you may have that causes you pain and inflammation. It can be compared to photosynthesis in plants, which absorb light and convert to energy to help with its growth.

What can cold laser therapy treat?
Cold laser therapy can be used to treat a number of different types of cells, including muscles, nerves, ligaments and cartilage. Because of this, it can treat a vast variety of conditions.

  • Cold laser therapy can treat:
  • Arthritis and associated pain
  • Back pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome and associated pain
  • Fibromyalgia pain
  • Knee and neck pain
  • Tendonitis
